FRC pleads with Supreme Court to protect children from indecent television programs

By Staff Writer

Children who are exposed to indecent programming may think that poor behavior is suitable in everyday life. However, the Family Research Council (FRC) is looking to make sure that children are not exposed to indecent images while they're watching television.

The organization is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to review a telecommunications decisions that was ruled by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. The ruling found that the FCC's indecency regulations held no weight because they were "unconstitutionally vague."

It is the hope of the organization that the Obama administration will turn over this ruling, as it could serve as a way to protect children from lewd acts that they may actually think are acceptable in society. FRC leaders said that this was a major concern for thousands of parents across the country who are worried that these images could have a negative effect on their child's morals.

However, as with any controversial or racy image, it's important to have a sense of parent-child communication, so that these topics can be addressed.
