Club security in New York City found to allow underage drinking after receiving bribe

New York City law enforcement recently found club bouncers taking bribes to allow underage drinking, DNAInfo.com reports.

Officials told the news source that the practice is not uncommon given the breadth of people who visit Houston Street on the weekend. They added that, in some cases, bouncers even initiate the proposal first and give minors the option. However, club owners see the undercover operations by local police as entrapment.

"It is not my goal to sit here and serve underages. My goal is to make money as a business," Darin Rubell, owner of Gallery Bar, told the news source. "Anyone running a business under a microscope, you will see the flaws. You are going to make mistakes, it happens."

Parents who find their child consuming alcohol may wish to enroll them into schools for troubled children. These learning institutions can help them overcome their addiction and live healthier lives.

According to the 2009 Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 42 percent of high school students used alcohol at least once during their lifetime.
